CHECK IT OUT is about checking accounts for middle and high school students. The lit included the following materials: teacher or guest speaker notes, blank checks and check register handouts, reconciliation sheets, and a True or False quiz. Supports Michigan Educational Standards and Benchmarks.
NEEDS AND WANTS is designed to help middle and high school students understand the differences among needs and wants. Students learn that financial decisions are influenced by the economic conditions and other factors in the region where they live. The kit provides notes for the teacher or guest speaker, along with Needs and Wants cards.
THE PENNY kit helps young students learn coin values and exchanges, simple addition with coins, recognition of coin combinations equaling other coins; and historical interviews about items that could be purchased for one cent. The kit includes a powerpoint presentation, an activity sheet and a penny fact sheet.
The kit titled YOU MAY SEE . . BUT WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT MONEY addresses the history of money from bartering/trade to common US currency; how currency is made; and a history of the "$" sign.
